What A Day ++++++

This afternoon on my way to the streetcar I took a moment to walk near the Lovejoy Fountain and it was especially beautiful today. I've never seen a fountain this large with so much flowing water. It's a relaxing place to sit in the shade with a book on a warm day.

I stopped at the Portland Art Museum Rental Sales Gallery to look at the art and wait for Allison to finish her work as a volunteer. I'm so happy that I went early enough to spend time examining the beautiful art. Almost 250 local artists take their paintings there for sale or rental and the Gallery also features special events and shows. It was a great way to spend part of the afternoon.

When we left the Gallery, we took the streetcar to the Pearl and stopped at a Vietnamese Restaurant "SILK". It was our first time there and they were offering happy hour specials so we found the bar, ordered a drink and shared three appetizers for our dinner. The food was beautifully prepared and presented and we both plan to return.

After leaving Silk we walked to the Gerding Theater which is located in a building called the Armory. We went to hear "Live Wire" a live radio show that is aired Saturdays at 7 p.m. The station is 91.5 FM, Portland. We weren't sure what to expect so we were pleasantly surprised to hear some exceptional music, interviews with cancer pioneer, Brian Druker and Green Architect, Dennis Wilde. There was song, comedy and a performance with cast members from a stage show "Oregon Oregon". It's midnight now and I just returned home a short while ago.

Now it's time to pack a small suitcase because Bella and I are taking two days off to explore the countryside. Bella saw her things packed and set by the door so suddenly she's wide awake ready for a new adventure.
