Last Summer Concert On Main

Tonight was the last downtown street concert for the summer so Merry, Bella and I took the streetcar early this afternoon and headed to the Heathman Hotel Restaurant for happy hour where we sat outside and shared a fresh artichoke, cheese plate, crab cake and pate. I know this sounds like a lot but the portions were small (really) and delicious. Then we walked half of a block to Main Street where we found a small table and chairs to enjoy a free rock concert. The music was loud and energetic and enjoyable. It's the last concert of the season except for a symphony concert at the Riverfront on Thursday September 3rd. We can take a blanket and sit on the lawn so Bella and I are looking forward to going.

August in Portland is a Good/Bad month - the love being that the weather is perfect, day and night, and the bad thing is that it will end soon. It has been a delightful and memorable summer. The statue in one photo is in the park where we walk to pick up the streetcar to return to our condos. It's a beautiful walk through huge trees and small rose gardens.
