Can You IMAGINE? A Restaurant named "FULL BELLY" ?

Okay, I'll admit that I am a (very) old woman who has (very) old fashioned ideas but I can't avoid stating my opinion that "FULL BELLY' would be my last choice for a restaurant name.  The positive thing about this cafe is that it just next door to American Plaza so what is more wonderful than just walking next door to the University Hotel to have breakfast, brunch, happy hour or dinner?

Last night we were invited to an introduction party (happy hour) and about 50 people showed up so it didn't take us long to get "happy".  Between 4 and 6 pm they feature a bistro menu and a slight reduction on drink prices (my Manhattan still cost $12 though).  The best thing about the party was a chance to reacquaint myself with old friends and an opportunity to meet new neighbors.

SO, if you're in the neighborhood, stop by and give them a try.  This part of downtown greatly needs a cafe / pub / restaurant so we'll wish them well ..................

Busy weeks in Downtown Portland

It's said that "idle hands are the devil's workshop" so I want to reassure you that I'm next to being an angel.  When I offered to help an owner who lives in California, rent his condo, I truly didn't know how much work it would be.  As it turns out, though, it has been a positive experience even though there have been a few challenges.  The unit is now advertised on Zillow and Craigslist, it's clean, and everything is repaired and beautiful.  The views are impressive so now - I'm waiting to find it's new tenant.

Portland awaits you !

Portland's SNOW-MAGEDDON 2020

YES, IT'S TRUE - Portland is gearing up for SNOW !!  For those of you who don't live here - this is a really big deal.  Downtown is not the first priority (obviously freeways and thoroughfares get the first clean-up) so we have to basically "hunker down".    So far I've done Trader Joe's and Grand Central Bakery.  Monday it will be New Seasons and I probably should pick up a pizza (for an emergency, don't you think?)
