Rose Festival

Friday was the opening of the two week celebration of the Rose Festival so the first major activity was to open a carnival at the waterfront and fireworks on Friday night. My friends gave a small party on the 14th floor of the building so we were able to see the fireworks from far above. It is exciting when you view the display from this height.

Each day there will be a new activity or function planned so there's something for everyone.

This week includes a wine party tomorrow, the Symphony on Tuesday and the "Mad Hatter's Ball" at the Governor Hotel Friday night. Merry has invited ten people to be her guests and it's a formal dinner dance and auction in benefit of the Albertina Kerr Center. Everyone is expected to wear a hat (as crazy as possible) so I may have an opportunity to get some good photos.

This afternoon Bella and I will walk down to the river. The forecast is for 80 degrees so it's a beautiful day.
