Well, the fire drama is over so today the clean-up begins. My friend, Callie, lives directly across from the condo that burned so she has smoke and water damage. The firemen used a high pressure hose to water down the exterior of all the condos on the third floor so the water leaked inside through the doors. They also used a foam material so the third floor is a mess right now. Callie has to skip work today so the people doing the clean-up can inspect each unit and fix the damage. So far the rumor is that the condo occupants lit a small hibachi in their kitchen and then left to walk the dog. I'm sure there will be more details (gossip) today.
The coming week is what we Portlander's dream of - temperatures between 68 and 84 degrees for at least seven days. The best thing is that the Rose Festival activities start this Friday so there will be a lot of activities at the river which is only a few blocks from where I live.
