Elk Rock Gardens of the Bishop's Close

This morning after breakfast at Davidson's in Tigard a friend and I drove to a place named "Bishop's Close" located in the Dunthorpe area north of Lake Oswego. The estate consists of thirteen acres on a high bluff on the western bank of the Willamette River. The narrow paths are designed to meander through the grounds that are filled with greenery and blooming plants. The weather is in the low 70s this morning and we were the only people walking the paths. It was a great experience and I look forward to returning soon. The roses shown in one photo are the Victorian era wild roses that growers have started to reintroduce into the market and the fragrance is difficult to describe. I had forgotten that a rose could smell so beautifully.
