What is it like to be at a contestant search on Wheel of Fortune?

Roger and I both love game shows so when we learned that Wheel of Fortune was holding a contestant search at the Chinook Winds Casino Resort in Lincoln City, we thought it would be a fun experience.  Wheel of Fortune promoters hold three shows a day for two days so there are six opportunities to be chosen for an interview.  It's the "luck of the draw" as we each filled out a form with name/contact info and put them into a bin.  They pick five names at a time and the five become "contestants".

At the second show on the first day, my name was drawn so it was an opportunity to be photographed and interviewed on video that will be reviewed by their staff later.  Those chosen will then get a letter asking them for a personal in-depth interview that will be held here in Portland.

Do I have a chance of being chosen?  Probably not - as I recall my interview.  BUT, "where there's life, there's hope" so I'll know in a couple of months.  Meanwhile, I get to show off my official "Wheel of Fortune" hat, an LED wheel pin that flashes in colors and a wheel key ring.
