Paris

Sunday at 8:30 p.m. New York time, we left for Paris and arrived in Paris at 10 a.m. this morning.  .

After picking us up at the airport, Philippe and Afran took us to a fabulous restaurant where we enjoyed a 2 1/2 hour lunch.  Afran and I ordered a five course lunch so the boys got to share some of the cheese course and all of the dessert.  Roger had French onion soup and duck breasts (they served him three) with a dark rich sauce and Philippe had two courses that I am not familiar with.  One course was a dish featuring bone marrow and the other was something that came from a pig's belly but he couldn't find words in English to describe it.

The city is filled with decorated trees and sparkling lights so it's even more beautiful than usual..

We're trying very hard to acclimate to the time change so we are hoping to stay awake until it's night time, however, I suspect that we'll be in bed very early. We only got about 2 or 3 hours of rest on the plane.  Oops, I see that Roger already is sitting with his eyes closed (5 p.m.) so we'll see how things go.....................
