This evening Bella and I walked to the Carafe Cafe to meet new friends that live in the complex, Vona, her daughter Pia and the Production Manager of the Portland Ballet, Thira. We did all that "girl talk" stuff so happy hour extended to 2.5 hours - but that's OK because we just walked back to our condos. Bella got lots of love and attention and we had a delightful time. The only bad thing is that I closed the condo down when I left so it's presently 81 degrees inside and I'm too cheap to put the air conditioner on (old people do that). Actually I just opened both balcony doors and the inside is already cooling a little. The happy hour menu is crazy with prices in the $3 to $5 area for things like steamed mussels, escargot, smoked salmon and croquettes. Yes - we ordered one of each to share so we managed to put away some meaningful calories. Maybe our walk to and from helped....... NO ? Well, that's OK.
