If you travel to Portland you MUST have a meal at "Mother's" on Oak and 2nd Avenue. My favorite is brunch so today I started with the best bloody Mary, ever, and followed with a half order of eggs Benedict. Singles can sit at the bar and, frankly, that's where it's the most fun. (Dear Roger has gout so I had to leave him home with an ice pack, the TV remote, water and snacks). The red and blue MAX trains will take you within one block of the restaurant (take the Oak station to leave the train).
On Saturday's and Sundays, the craft market is open at River Front and it's only a three block walk from Mother's. Today I had a mission to get some things for our back balcony to entice birds during the winter. I found a really cute hand made hummingbird feeder and a hanging vase for flowers. Now all we need is a bird feeder that will hold suet or seeds. Hummingbirds are everywhere so we're excited to give them some food and to enjoy watching them.
