Salt and Straw
Allison and I had another new food cart experience when we visited "Salt and Straw". They make ice cream using local fresh ingredients and the ice cream is made similar to the old fashioned way when it was put into metal cylinders, packed in ice and salt and churned into ice cream. I didn't realize that the ice cream was then packed into straw to keep cold - thus the name Salt and Straw. We enjoyed talking to the owner who told us more about their several Portland locations. Allison and I both had a one scoop cone of Rocky Road with Oregon Hazelnuts and loaded with squishy marshmallows. Delicious...................
