Portland's Newest Restaurant - MKT

Until a couple of months ago, whenever Bella and I needed a walk and a delicious lunch we would walk through the park to Carafe on Market St.  They closed in June and yesterday a new restaurant named "MKT" opened in the same building.  They did an extensive remodel and the owners are new so now we'll have to see how things progress.  Ann, Bella and I walked over at noon to check it out and we had an outdoor table in the shade.

Ann had a frisee salad with smoked salmon, bacon and a poached egg and I ordered mussels.  There was a small dish with a red sauce so I asked the waiter what it was and discovered that it was clarified butter with some chili sauce............ OMG..............  Without the butter it was a healthy lunch and we both had a great time.  The menu is still in transition but what they offered today was very nicely presented and extremely tasty.
