The Subject Is Food..................
You can tell when I have nothing much to share because then the subject always return to "food".
Tonight Callie and I returned to Uptown Billiards Club for one of their fabulous five course dinners. Tonight featured squash so each course had a different style of squash in its recipe.
Dinner included:
- Roasted Acorn Squash and Apple Soup
- Pickled Delicata Squash, Baby Shrimp and Watercress Salad
- Oven Roasted Halibut
- Barbecued Beef Short Ribs
- Zucchini Carrot Cake
Wines were from France, Spain, Germany and Italy. Was it fabulous - yes, definitely. Pictured are the halibut with a pesto crust, spaghetti squash and basmati rice and the beef dish with butternut squash puree and potato crisps - and I forgot to mention that the five courses cost only $10.00. (5 small glasses of wine are an additional $10.00) No kidding..............
