Roger's latest painting in his "Wild Nature" series............

This is the third painting in Roger's series of wild nature themed paintings.  This was done on hand made paper using acrylic inks.

MAY 24th - In Memory

Seven years - 4:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning.  The day I had to start a new life without the man who loved me for more than 50 years.

He will live in my heart until it's my turn to die.  Rest in peace, Dear Gary.

BEING MORTAL

"Being Mortal" is a must read for anyone over the age of 50.  The author is physician, Atul Gawande.  He discusses the importance of, not only living a good and fulfilling life, but also living a good life all the way to the end.  It's a book that will lead to a conversation between mid-age adults with their aging parents.  As one of these "old ones", I believe that it's my obligation to ensure that my life and my death will be on my terms and this book definitely provides the guidelines.

The Ultimate GIRL'S DAY.............

Yes, Allison and I experienced the perfect day (at least, for us).  We started with lunch at Marcos in Multnomah Village - Allison had a shrimp Louie and I had a Southwestern salad.

Across the street there's a small farm stand.  Today they featured fresh Oregon asparagus, fresh picked strawberries and beautiful peonies.  Farm fresh eggs were only $5 a carton so we ended up with an arm full of wonderful fresh things.

Our next stop was to a pet store where we stocked up with goodies for our puppies and then the "ultimate"

YES, you guessed it - - - - - - COSTCO !!!!

Allison said that she "didn't really need anything" but I saw a really full cart full when we exited.

Roger is happy - fresh organic chicken, fresh wild King salmon, fresh fruit and a few extras..............

Life is GOOD.......................................

Roger's latest painting in his "Wild Nature" series......

Roger just completed an acrylic on canvas 28 by 38 inch painting titled "Wild Agave".  He has two more to do in this series so today he's starting one that features a cactus flower.

Mike and Teresa joined us for Mother's Day weekend.  They flew in Friday night and Saturday we enjoyed the Farmer's Market followed by lunch outdoors at River Front (my Mother's Day treat).  Weather was lovely so it was a perfect day for being outdoors.  Even little Bella got to join in on the fun.

Sunday after breakfast we took MAX to the "Saturday Market" (they are also there Sunday) and it was an opportunity to see some creative craft and art items and also a good opportunity to "people watch".

It truly was a very special Mother's Day!

We LOVE Bella.............

Out sweet little girl is doing fine, even with her heart problem, but she takes extra care now.  It's like she knows................... she's more quiet now and a bit more "clingy" but her doctor is encouraged with her progress.  We're hopeful that she'll make it to her 10th birthday in October.

My friend, Rae, invited "the girls" for dinner last night and this was the view from one of her balconies. 

We're enjoying a lovely spring with weather that rapidly changes from sunny to thunderstorms and then back to sunny again.
